EVA AIR CBSA ACI HAWBs Data Transmission Fee
21 July 2006
As stated on EVA Air¡¯s website (www.evaair.com) on 27 July, 2006, new CBSA customs regulations concerning electronic manifest data transmission will increase costs for EVA Air. EVA Air, like other carriers, is forced to share these costs with agents and forwarders and is introducing ACI transmission fees to this effect.
The fees will go into effect on 27 July 2006. EVA Air will charge different fees depending on which method of data transmission is used.
- Electronic Data Transmission to EVA Air (EDI):
HAWB data sent by agents and forwarders through FHL/2 to the EVA AIR AAMS system will be charged at XXXX (please insert local currency) per HAWB. The total amount should be listed on the MAWB as ¡°Other Charges¡± with the charge code ¡°CG¡±.
If you submit HAWB information to us electronically, please note the following: - To send data direct to EVA using FHL/2 messages via SITA, use the address TPETVBR. - To send FHL/2 messages via the Cargo Community System (CCS) to EVA, you are required to submit the HAWB information via CCN or EZYCARGO or US-CCS (SITA) or Descartes or TradeVan
Manual input of HAWB data by EVA Air: When agents or forwarders are unable to transmit FHL/2 messages, EVA Air will manually input the HAWB data into our AAMS system. A fee of XXXX (please insert local currency) per HAWB will apply. The total amount should be listed on the MAWB as ¡°Other Charges¡± with the charge code ¡°CC¡±.
Direct Transmission to the CBSA: If you as a forwarder are authorized to submit HAWB data directly to CBSA, it is mandatory for you to register with us in advance in writing to enable us to make the necessary system changes. We will confirm your registration after we have verified the supplied information. Furthermore, senders who have completed registration with us must supply an 8000-series carrier code that will be used in the Handling Information Box of the MAWB. Forwarders who transmit HAWB data simultaneously directly to the CBSA and to EVA Air¡¯s ACI system will not be charged a transmission fee. However, if the forwarder (even if qualified to send HAWB directly to the CBSA) has not completed registration formalities with EVA Air, then EVA Air will assume that it is required to transmit HAWB data to CBSA and will charge the forwarder a fee for doing so.
Should you have any questions in relation to technical aspects of the ACI or if you want to transmit test data to our system, please contact our local cargo sales representative or EVA Air Head Office (Steven Huang +886-3-351-6515, stevenhuang@evaair.com / Christine Hsu +886-3-351-5707, email christinehsu@evaair.com) Thank you for your support.
